Rennie Ellis Rocks Melbourne Fashion! Friday August 29 6-8pm August 23 2014, 0 Comments

Sharpies, 1973, Rennie Ellis

Rennie Ellis photographed Melbourne's fashionable underground from the 1970s to the 1990s. To celebrate Melbourne Spring Fashion Week we're projecting images from his books Decade and Decadent into the street. We'll also be carefully creating an 70's and 80's themed playlist for your enjoyment inside the store. Dressing the part is encouraged!

To help transform your own wardrobe we've curated some Rennie Ellis inspired looks in collaboration with Melbourne labels Emily Green, The Dusty Caravan, Kester Black, Elizabeth Milsom and Otto and Spike. As well as our photography slideshow, Musician Amy Pollock will be performing outside The Job Warehouse (where Melbourne's fashion designers shopped for more than 50 years) throughout the evening.

Join us as part of the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) Opening Night Shop-Hop Events for a glass of bubbly, fashion and photography in store from 6-8pm (before proceeding to the other Shop-Hop Stops open until 10pm). Opening night attendees have the chance to enter the Shop-Hop To Win competition by checking in to two or more Shop-Hop stops

Visit the MSFW website to plan your night.

New window opening: The Dusty Caravan jewellery July 18 2014, 0 Comments

Join us from 6pm Wednesday 23 July as we enter the sublime and surreal world ofThe Dusty Caravan. Hollie M Kelley will transform the Liverpool St windows into an aviary of whimsy, showcasing her latest works in brass, glass, leather and feather.

Kelley makes all Dusty Caravan jewellery by hand in her studio in a former printing factory in Richmond, and all her materials are ethically sourced: the brass, sterling silver and gold is reclaimed; the vintage glass is dead stock; the feathers are either naturally shed from her own birds and chickens or sourced from cruelty-free suppliers; and all leather is recycled. Even the packaging is locally made from sustainably sourced materials.

On Wednesday night we'll be serving mulled wine and hot nuts, and afterwards we encourage you to hit the town for Nite Art - the city's annual after-dark choose your own artventure of more than 40 art sites in the CBD.
