Behind the Wheel is a love letter to the Australian landscape, a celebration of Australia's tradition of vernacular photography, and a keyhole view into the ways our vast country has changed - and how it has stayed the same - over decades of dusty, sunburned, and memory-filled road trips.

"Featuring the work of dozens of talented and award-winning Australian photographers, Behind the Wheel takes you on a road journey like no other, with over 200 brilliant images in one glorious book." ~ The Worldwide Publishing Empire.

Behind the Wheel is a rare snapshot of the vast reach of Australian landscape, people and culture, from the rough-round-the-edges optimism of the Aussie Outback, to the milk-bar roadsides of suburban Melbourne.

In his late teens, editor and publisher Ian Kenins bought his first camera. He began taking it to football and cricket matches - sneaking himself into the press section to take a cheeky place amongst the professional photographers. By the late 'eighties Kenins was freelancing as a sports photographer for The Age and The Australian newspapers. Before long he had branched out from sport into whatever assignments he could grab and established himself as a vernacular photographer of rare talent. Behind the Wheel is Kenins' second foray into publishing. You can see his jewel-box of a book 'A Snapshot of Melbourne' here
