Fabric Of Football Tea Towel

Australian Rules Football was created in Melbourne in 1858 and has been played in every state and territory of Australia since 1915. This 'Fabric of Football' tea towel features photographs of vibrant woollen football jumper designs from the 1970's and is 100 percent linen.
Around Grand Final time Melbournalia will often do a footy display in the window. It's not unusual for someone to come into the store to tell us the story of a vintage jersey (it had their mate's name written in the collar), or to stand outside, transfixed, by scarves sporting the colours of vanished local clubs.
Sporting Nation's Tim Rath used to travel a lot for work and found the lure of the country op shop impossible to resist. Eventually Tim's treasury of vintage sportswear became something special in itself: Sporting Nation began with an urge to catalogue this collection of ephemera of Australian sporting life in a way that could be shared. Tim's memorabilia of country footy clubs, hours on the tennis court, cricket bats passed down through the family, and iconic brands and models of gear went under the lens to become Sporting Nation - a collection of homewares, prints, totes and wearables designed for the good sport in your life.
Sporting Nation combines fine art and contemporary design aesthetics with Australian sporting heritage to celebrate a golden era of participatory sport. Designed in Melbourne by Sporting Nation.

* For best results, wash your tea towel in a cold cycle on your machine with other similar coloured items. It’ll wrinkle in the wash, so gently pull it back in to shape before hanging it to dry on the clothesline. Iron on the reverse side of the print with a warm iron. Don’t tumble dry or dry clean.
Large corporate orders outside the Melbourne CBD may incur a delivery fee.
If you plan on sending your purchase overseas please research local customs and regulations for the country you are sending to and ensure the items comply. Some countries and states within Australia have restrictions on food and other consumables.
