When you pop inside the unassuming door of Brunswick Street's famous Marios cafe, you're stepping into a piece of Melbourne history. Opened in 1986 by two Marios - Mario D and Mario Mac - this small Italian diner rode out the wild-years of Fitzroy's bohemian age, and ignored the gentrification that followed in the early 2000's. To this day Marios remain a refuge for artists, theatre folks and locals to linger until late over a bowl of carbonara and one too many (well-filled) glasses of red wine.

With instantly recognisable waistcoated wait-staff (purveyors of industrial doses of Aussie cheek) from frosty morning until the long hours of the evening, there's no better place to realise you've been enjoying your gelato at a table beside Guy Pearce, Magda Szubanski or one of the famous-but-anonymous faces that keep Melbourne's extraordinary arts and culture scene so vibrant. For lovers of theatre, film, arts or design - or just those in search of a plate of killer spaghetti - no visit to Melbourne is complete without an hour or four at one of Mario's crisp-clothed tables.

Original retro prints celebrating the culture, architecture and design of Melbourne and Australia.

Inspired by art from the 1950s and 60s, Harper and Charlie use vintage print techniques to achieve their authentic feel. If you look closely you might be able to spot the careful details - slipped registration, slight colour-bleed, or light scuffs in the design - that give these beautiful prints their warmth and character.

All Harper and Charlie prints are designed and made right here in Melbourne using the highest quality commercial grade inks. All prints use premium grade Ilford 180gsm matt paper.

Large prints will be posted carefully rolled in a tube and protected with a layer of brown paper. A4 prints will be posted flat, sandwiched between Kraft board.
