In 2003 a fire destroyed a charming pavillion at the end of St Kilda Pier. Designed by James Charles Morell, the pavillion was accessed by strolling along the pier, and had been constructed 99 years earlier - in 1904.

The pier and its pavillion had long been the soul of St Kilda. Residents and tourists alike had enjoyed summer strolls out past the marina to the penguin habitat that lay just beyond the pavillion and kiosk, or waited in line for fish and chips to eat as they watched fishermen battle to bring in their catch. After the fire there was some talk of leaving the pavillion un-reconstructed, but following enormous public support, it was reborn in 2006. Today you can enjoy a stroll down to the end of the pier, past the timeless fishermen, promenading sweethearts, and lounging teenagers, to get yourself some fish and chips or glass of rosé, and watch the boats in the marina or keep you eyes peeled for the sea life that still proliferates in the calm waters under the boardwalk.

Harper and Charlie make original retro prints celebrating the culture, architecture and design of Melbourne and Australia.

Inspired by art from the 1950s and 60s, Harper and Charlie use vintage print techniques to achieve their authentic feel. If you look closely you might be able to spot the careful details - slipped registration, slight colour-bleed, or light scuffs in the design - that give these beautiful prints their warmth and character.

All Harper and Charlie prints are designed and made right here in Melbourne using the highest quality commercial grade inks. All prints use premium grade Ilford 180gsm matt paper.

Large prints will be posted carefully rolled in a tube and protected with a layer of brown paper. A4 prints will be posted flat, sandwiched between Kraft board.

Material(s): Commercial grade pigment inks, ILFORD 180gsm matt paper.
